What we do

Catapulta serves as a launchpad for contemporary Spanish art, created to support emerging and mid-career artists, as well as a new generation of curators. Our goal is to increase their presence on the international art scene and showcase the excellent quality of artistic talent based in Spain.

The platform is designed to bridge the gap between local talent and global opportunities, ensuring that the future of art developed in Spain is vibrant, innovative, and aligned with the wider world. Through our commitment to artistic excellence, curatorial innovation, and cultural exchange, Catapulta stands as a vital force in redefining Spain’s role in the global contemporary art landscape.

To achieve this, Catapulta’s main focus areas are:

Curatorial Collaborations

We invite and accompany international curators to research and directly engage with artists throughout Spain. We also organize research trips abroad for young curators based in our country, fostering international dialogue and cultural exchange.

Artist Archives

We conduct a rigorous study of young and mid-career artists who are part of the art ecosystem in Spain, in collaboration with local curators. This will serve as a research tool, available on demand for art professionals on our website.

Institutional Partnerships

We create long-term collaborations with museums and cultural organizations to develop impactful projects, ranging from small initiatives to large-scale commissions, and public programs of international relevance.

Production Support

We finance and co-produce new artworks by both Spanish and international artists based in Spain. This support is directed toward projects intended for international biennials, exhibitions, and major institutional presentations.

How are we funded?

Catapulta is funded by patrons and philanthropists committed to contemporary Spanish art who have a shared vision for its future. The project is sustained through memberships, annual subscriptions, and collaborations with sponsors and private foundations.
