Istanbul Biennial

As an official collaborator, Catapulta produced Eva Fàbregas’s large-scale installation at the Istanbul Biennial “The Three-Legged Cat”, which was curated by Christine Tohmé.

Fàbregas’s sculptural installation, titled “Exudates,” occupied and transformed the space as if it were a living organism. Fàbregas’s work featured large-scale, biomorphic forms constructed from latex, creating tactile, visceral shapes reminiscent of bodily interiors. The sculptures emerged from the architecture, establishing a dynamic relationship that suggested the building itself was oozing them. This somatic and sensory practice aimed to evoke a pre-linguistic realm for feeling and inhabiting the world.

Her practice is deeply somatic and sensory, aiming to evoke a pre-linguistic realm where alternative ways of feeling, caring, and inhabiting the world become possible. Recent solo exhibitions include “Breathing Wounds” (Matadero Madrid, 2025), “Exudates” (Manifesta 15, Barcelona, 2024), and “Devouring Lovers” (Hamburger Bahnhof, Berlin, 2023).

Spanish artist, Claudia Pagès, also participated in this year’s Istanbul Biennial, who showed her work alongside 47 artists.
