Catapulta will be present at the 18th Lyon Biennale of Contemporary Art 2026, “To pass from one dream to another”, curated by Catherine Nichols, supporting the following artists: Álvaro Urbano, June Crespo, Karlos Gil, Laia Estruch, Lara Almarcegui, Lúa Coderch, Luz Broto, Mónica Mays, and Núria Güell.
Catherine Nichols took part in a research trip organized by Catapulta to Madrid, Barcelona, and Bilbao in June 2025, the outcome of which demonstrates the excellence and vitality of our artistic scene.
Drawing on the writings of Walter Benjamin and on Robert Filliou’s “Principles of Poetic Economy”, Catherine Nichols conceives a project that lies somewhere between critique and invention. Whereas Benjamin shows how capitalism produces a collective dream whose continuity must be interrupted, Filliou proposes experimenting with other forms of economy through artistic and social practices. An invitation to imagine alternative economies—poetic, regenerative, and affective—in the face of extractive capitalism and structural inequality.
From 19 September to 13 December 2026.
