Carolina Jiménez lives and works in Barcelona, where she combines her work as an independent curator with institutional practice. She is currently Head of Programs at Hangar, a center for artistic research and production. Previously, she was responsible for teaching in the Independent Studies Programme (PEI) at MACBA.
Her curatorial work, developed through exhibitions, public programs, and/or research-action structures, has been presented in contexts such as Espai 13 at Fundació Miró, Beirut Art Center, La Casa Encendida, Fabra i Coats, Museu de la Música de Barcelona, La Capella, Filmoteca de Catalunya, Matadero Madrid, Centro Párraga, Vera Cortês, and TBA21, among others.
Until 2017, she lived in Berlin, where she held curatorial and research roles at SAVVY Contemporary, Transmediale-CTM Vorspiel, Berlin Art Week, Künstlerhaus Bethanien, and Altes Finanzamt. She is the editor of several publications and writes for exhibition catalogues and artists’ monographs.
