On April 8, we celebrated the official presentation of the Catapulta Archive at Infinito Delicias. The event brought together artists, curators, gallery owners, members, and friends of Catapulta for a day of conversation, exchange, and celebration that highlighted the importance of continuing to build real spaces of connection around contemporary art.
The Catapulta Archive is a digital platform that gathers and gives visibility to contemporary creation in the field of visual arts produced in Spain. Developed in collaboration with local curators, the archive traces a living, constantly evolving map of the country’s art scene, paying attention to the diversity of contexts, territories, and practices that shape it.
More than 300 artists are currently part of this tool aimed at art professionals—curators, researchers, and cultural agents from around the world—through which it is possible to consult profiles and dossiers using different search criteria. The archive is continuously updated, and each year invited curators expand and enrich this mapping, whether from territorial perspectives or through different lines of research and artistic practice.
This first mapping was developed together with Jesús Alcaide, responsible for the Andalusian context; Cristina Anglada, for the Balearic Islands; Gilberto González, for the Canary Islands; Carolina Jiménez, for Catalonia; Agar Ledo Arias, for Galicia; Laura López Paniagua, for Madrid; Carles Àngel Saurí, for the Valencian Community; and Leire Vergara, for the Basque Country. Rafa Barber also participated as a collaborating curator in the development of this first phase of the archive.
